VISCERAL & NERVE MANIPULATION
Visceral Manipulation is a hands-on therapy that works through the body’s visceral system: heart, liver, intestines brain, and other internal organs. The operator’s hands apply specifically aimed forces that work to encourage the normal mobility, tone and inherent motion (motility) of the viscera and the associated connective tissues.
Nerve Manipulation is another gentle modality that creates movement and freedom within the nervous system. Significant factors of Nerve Manipulation include identifying the local nerve fixations' effects on the rest of the body, and the ways to access this relationship, connect with it, and resolve the more comprehensive (global) dysfunctional pattern.
I studied Visceral and Nerve Manipulation with the French osteopaths who are the ultimate authority in this field: J.P. Barral, DO and A. Croibier, DO. Although manual manipulations of the viscera and the nervous system had been practiced for many years, in the recent decades Dr. Barral advanced these modalities to a complete, universal treatment of the entire organism.
